One day last February, one of our past carpenters, Mariah Mudek, started doodling on a piece of plywood during her lunch break. The following week, she began bringing colorful sharpies and paint pens so she could grow her drawings each day—eventually morphing them into a large piece of art.
Not only did Mariah’s drawings brighten up the job site, but they also caught the developer’s eye. Team members from @ecumen_org loved her art so much that they cut out each image and created frames so they could live on in the lobby of their new building, Forty Forty Flats.
This collection—the “Mariah” Exhibit—will hopefully be the first of many that will rotate through Forty Forty Flats’ community gallery space. We’re proud that residents and visitors alike will enjoy Mariah’s artwork as they walk through the lobby, adding an extra touch of brightness to their days!
In the photos above, scroll through to see Mariah’s Exhibit as well as what her artwork looked like at the Forty Forty Flats job site.
Also, Mariah is in the military—we thank her for her service!
